The space was heavenly, gorgeous, modern, loft - like space. Ms. Hedy was very accommodating, We had our album release listening party and it was the perfect setting, we had balloons and led lights, floor sitting, blankets, she provided also gym mats for guests to sit on and step benches. We had an awesome time using the gym for a bachelor party game day! Hedy and her team were super helpful and accommodating and the facility was well located and in great shape. Sound system was great and easy to use. Hedy was a wonderful, gracious host and even gave us some recommendations of things to do in NOLA for the rest of our trip! Highly recommend!

About New Orleans

New Orleans is a blend of loud, proud, and unusual, which explains why the city attracts over 17 million visitors each year. Nestled between Lake Pontchartrain and the Mississippi River, the New Orleans landscape is defined by waterways. Its quarter-moon shape earned it the 'Crescent City' nickname.

Historically, the metropolis has been prone to flooding but federal authorities stepped in and installed drainage pumps as well as a system of levees in efforts to solve the issue. The vibrancy, eclectic hybrid of cultural influences, and jazz music still reel in visitors for diverse reasons. New Orleans' vibrant culture shines through its diverse Orleans cuisine in the French Quarter, bustling event venues in the Central Business District, the historical significance of the National WWII Museum, and the lively atmosphere of Mid City.

With something interesting always happening around town, you can’t go wrong with securing a New Orleans event space for your next private event. The city is also home to many reputable event vendors, so you can organize an event with ease.

Event Options in New Orleans

Once the event venue selection is sorted, several vendors in Orleans can cater to the services needed for private parties. The mesmerizing city excels in providing a variety of elements essential for energizing any event.

Lighting and Decorations
Lights and colors have a way of affecting people's moods. You can steer the function towards a certain tone with the use of decorations combined with the right lighting. Floral arrangements are always a great touch to add to your next event, too.

Furniture
Each Orleans party venue presents certain limitations, for instance, the ceiling height, windows/doors, and access to electrical outlets. The layout and flow of traffic in the space need to factor in considering which type of furniture should be added. The way you set up the tables, chairs, and decor, greatly affects how guests move around the venue.

Equipment
Whether your event brings together people for a presentation or an audience to watch a performance, you want them to hear everything loud and clear. Too loud sound becomes a nuisance and sound that is barely heard makes the audience disengage quickly. New Orleans rental businesses take care of the equipment needs, but it's always best to check beforehand if your chosen venue already has these.

Catering
Selecting a caterer in New Orleans is one aspect that you won't struggle too much with. With plenty of establishments borrowing inspiration from the city's Spanish, African American, and French influences, you are guaranteed to serve up a delectable menu at your New Orleans event.

Heating and Ventilation
Every special occasion, from private events and wedding receptions to special events and intimate gatherings, aims to offer a great and comfortable experience. New Orleans is marked by long and hot summers while the winters are generally short, windy, and cool. Ventilation and heating are crucial aspects that you shouldn't skimp out on. Ask the New Orleans venue manager about the available options and outsource what's needed.

These event planners are already familiar with the city's event venues, especially those in the Central Business District, Lower Garden District, and the New Orleans French Quarter.

Pros and Cons of Events in New Orleans

New Orleans, like any other metropolis in the world, has its advantages and disadvantages. It's best to learn about the good and bad when settling for a New Orleans event space.

Advantages

The spellbound experiences
The history of New Orleans is very much a part of the present, with influences of the past in proud display just about everywhere. From ancient oaks and old neighborhoods from bygone eras, wandering the streets of the metropolis feels like going on a historic yet modern journey.

Delectable cuisine
A visit to Crescent City isn't complete without sampling the unique and delectable Creole cuisine. Beignets are quite popular here with assortments of other spicy, sweet, cold, and hot dishes available. If your event requires the services of a New Orleans caterer, then rest assured that your guests will leave well-fed and raving about the food.

The flat topography
New Orleans has a mostly flat topography making the streets highly friendly to explore on foot. Navigation is also quite straightforward in this city, and taking strolls won't feel like an exhausting workout. The majority of the neighborhoods receive much-deserved TLC and are a feast for the eyes to behold.

The cost of living
Hurricane Katrina forced most natives to move away from New Orleans in 2005. It devastated the region's real estate and prices took a nosedive. Compared to other similar-sized metro areas, the city is much more affordable than Atlanta, Philadelphia, and Baltimore.

Disadvantages

Natural disasters
Because New Orleans is low-lying and surrounded by bodies of water, it experiences a fair amount of natural disasters like storms and hurricanes. It's better to stay informed about the weather forecast if you're planning to throw an event in this city.

Local pests pose a challenge
Brown recluse spiders inhabit the city, Mardi Gras celebrations signal the season of fire ants, and buck moth caterpillars have a knack for dropping off of oak trees in spring. Knowing what you face when planning an outdoor event in New Orleans makes you better prepared.

The subtropical climate
New Orleans experiences sub-tropical weather which can essentially put a hamper on things. Humidity levels are high and the sticky heat unbearable if stuck indoors without proper air conditioning.

Famous Locations in New Orleans

Paddlewheeler Creole Queen
If you thought that Creole food was delectable enough, now imagine indulging in the cuisine while enjoying the sights of the Mississippi River. The Paddlewheeler Creole Queen located at the French Quarter provides this experience. It can accommodate up to 1000 people, and there's even a talented jazz band on board.

New Orleans Jazz Market
Jazz music is everywhere in the city, and the New Orleans Jazz Market (NOJM) is a prime location to catch a live jazz performance or learn about a musician. NOJM is a place for the jazz community and is home to the New Orleans Jazz Orchestra. The bonus is that some proceeds go towards supporting the local jazz community.

Nola Brewing Company
The East Riverside harbors the Nola Brewing Company, which is known for its authentic craft beers. Here, you can arrange a scheduled tour around the facility to see how the tasty booze is brewed. Book a table at this peaceful restaurant in New Orleans, which has a selection of fine wines, cocktails, and delicious food.
